Quick Start Guide

  • Program 16-bit  or 32-bit PIC® Microcontrollers / dsPIC® Digital Signal Controllers: ( dsPIC33EP256MC502, PIC32MX170F256B family):
    • Insert MCU to A socket ( 16/32 bit ).
    • Set the A - B programmer switch (SW1) to A position.
    • Set the SW2 switch to "other" position.
    • Connect Mini USB-B cable to PGM USB connector.
    • Program or debug the MCU with MPLAB® X IDE.
  • Program 32-bit MM PIC® Microcontrollers: ( PIC32MM0064GPL028 family ):
    • Insert MCU to A socket ( 16/32 bit ).
    • Set the A - B programmer switch (SW1) to A position.
    • Set the SW2 switch to "MM" position.
    • Connect Mini USB-B cable to PGM USB connector.
    • Program or debug the MCU with MPLAB® X IDE.
  • Program  8-bit PIC® Microcontrollers ( PIC16F1885x and PIC18F2xK40 family):
    • Insert MCU to B socket ( 8 bit ).
    • Set the A - B programmer switch (SW1) to B position.
    • Connect Mini USB-B cable to PGM USB connector.
    • Program or debug the MCU with MPLAB® X IDE.
  • Use USB to UART bridge:
    • Download the device driver from MCP2221A product site.
    • Install the downloaded driver
    • Connect Mini USB-B cable to COM USB connector.
    • Configure your preferred serial emulator program to use the USB to UART bridge.
      • Recommended Serial emulator software: PuTTY
